A Whirlwind of Change

Change is good, right? Amberly and I are in the midst of a transition our lives have yet to experience. Within a 30 day span we will graduate Ryan from MBA school, move Amberly out of her apartment, move Ryan out of his house, celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, move into our new apartment, attend a good friends wedding, celebrate the new year, have a bachelor party, have a bachelorette party, set up for our wedding, get married, go on a honeymoon and have Ryan begin his career with Gallup. Other than that, things have been slow...

While this is certainly the most hectic month of our lives, we have reflected on the ever present blessings that have been given to us during this time. These blessings are not taken lightly in a time when blessings for many seem few and far between. In fact, each significant event listed above is made possible only through the support, financial and otherwise, by our family and friends. It is certain, we owe much to those around us. I'm not sure if it was the book of Luke, or Uncle Ben in Spiderman who first said "to whom much is given, much is expected," but either way, the point rings true.

So, in the midst of unyielding doom and gloom, reported globally on a perpetual basis, take a moment to count your blessings. How much have you been given? and more important, what is expected of you? As Amberly and I manage the change in our life, it becomes clear much is expected of us. As Ronald Reagan once said "All great change in America begins at the dinner table," meaning, with family. Our changes have certainly been made possible through our family who have instilled into us values, character and stunning good looks!

Have a great Christmas!

3 1/2 more weeks!

Can you believe it?! I can't! We'll be married in less than 4 weeks! Wow, the time has just flown by! We are getting excited for our friends Betsy and Jeff's wedding on December 27th, and then bachelorette/bachelor parties the next weekend, then it's our wedding already! :) We are so excited and so thankful for all of our guests that have RSVPed. We are going to have such a great turnout even in this cold January weather! If you need directions to the church or the reception don't hesitate to email or call me or Ryan. We are happy to help and want to make sure that everyone is there.

We want to wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year! We are looking forward to 2009 and everything that it has to offer! New apartment, new marriage, new jobs and a new life together! May peace and blessings shine on you this wonderful season!

love, Ryan and Amberly
P.S. Can you guess what the theme is to our wedding?

46 Days, Programs, Pictures and Buffet

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope you're starting to count down the weeks now! Can you believe it?! We're down to 46 days, that's about 6 weeks! WOW! Well, to mention a little something about the title...we've been working fervently on the programs. Amberly is busy printing away, paper punching, and then Ryan has been an expert at ribbon additions. We only have about 50 left to do and then that's yet another thing to check off the list! Amberly also ordered pictures today to put on the guestbook table, and has confirmed the buffet meal with the caterer. Ryan was very excited when he heard we were having a buffet! :)

Since Thanksgiving is this week we both wanted to say "Thank You!" for being such an amazing part of our lives. We are so fortunate to have such great friends and family, and we know that we can count on you to always be there for us. Thanks again for everything, and make sure to tell the people you're thankful for that you love them and appreciate them this holiday season!

Less than 2 months

Yesterday we passed the official 2 month mark! Amberly is keeping busy with sending out invitations, putting programs together and getting ready for her upcoming vendor meetings. While Ryan continues to plug along with the tail end of the MBA program. Now that it's finally getting closer and closer it seems to be sinking in even more! We'll be husband and wife soon enough. This past weekend we got a chance to hang out with one of the bridesmaids (Amberly's friend Rachel) and one of the groomsmen (Amberly's brother Tyson). It was a great time! We're looking forward to this weekend in Columbus, to plan out even more wedding details!

This past Sunday we celebrated 2 years together...this picture is an oldie but a goodie from our early college years!

Brrrr....Baby It's Cold Outside

This is it...the official beginning of cold weather season! The current forecast calls for 30 degree lows and 37 degree highs. Sounds like snowy weather is ahead! Here's a picture from last winter of us in Minneapolis. We're gearing up for the snow and have our scarves and mittens ready.

Speaking of snow, look at this cute winter wedding couple!!!

66 More Days!

We're almost down to the 2 month mark! We can't believe that 2 months and 5 days from now we'll be saying our vows and busting our moves on the dance floor! The anticipation is mounting! And so is the apartment search. Today we're headed to Whispering Hills to check out our possible new pad. It's quite a nice move for Amberly because she already lives at the apartment complex! So cross your fingers, because this might be the one!

The First Ever Post! :)

Here we go! Blogging the happenings of our lives as husband and wife...well, I guess not quite yet. At least not for another 68 days. As most of you know, the wedding is coming up and we are getting more and more excited with each passing day. Ryan received a job offer here in Omaha, so that's where we'll stay for now! Finding a place to live has been interesting, but exciting in its own way. A fresh new beginning for both of us in an apartment all our own. Now, finding a place to put all of our stuff, that could be interesting.

As the wedding approaches we'll try and update as often as possible about the last minute details. And make sure t
o check back for wedding and honeymoon pictures!

Wedding tidbit of the day: This is the church we are getting married in! St. John's Lutheran Church ELCA, in Columbus, Nebraska! I hope it's this snowy on our wedding day!
